They also hit my Wikipedia page. While vandal comments about "bigot" and "homophobe" were pulled by the staff for all the right reasons, the link to the OP remains on the grounds that "A person's political and social views are always relevant when properly sourced."
I am naturally reluctant to delete the post. I got grief merely for turning off the comments, which some people for some reason think was an odd thing to do. Any suggestions?

Unless you want that particular post, which you clearly now have some second thoughts about in at least some aspects, hanging around your neck like an albatross for what could be a tiresomely long time, I'd suggest you at very least consider changing its status to friends-only. You might get some flak for that, too, but it will subside, and eventually something else will become the source of outrage.
As it stands now, in my opinion, it stands as an unnecessary barrier between you and others who might very well enjoy your writing, regardless of whether they agree with you in matters of politics or religion.
Again, just a pragmatic perspective.

Wiki article
The vandalism and "controversial" sections all seem to have been removed, and I added a note in the talk page explaining why I don't think it's really relevant to include one there. Hopefully other WP editors will agree.August 14 2009, 18:40:34 UTC 2 years ago
Continue to tell the truth, but adhere to the charge of charity - leave up the OP, but add an update speaking about your regret for the tone but not the essential message?
