Cover and cover artist of TITANS OF CHAOS
Irene Gallo, the art director for Tor books, has posted on her blog a picture of Scott Fischer, who did the beatiful paintings for ORPHANS OF CHAOS and FUGITIVES OF CHAOS. Well, lo and behold, in the background on the easel is what looks like Amelia Windrose, everyone's favorite fourth-dimensional English schoolgirl. I love the Chaos covers. Granted, I only have ORPHANS at home, but the pic of FUGITIVES I've seen is even more splendid. Looks like Titans has Amelia in a classic pose of rapturous ecstasy. All we need are some nice burning arrows and an Italian sculptor...

Gotta love a gal with an aviatrix fixation and the helmet to prove it.

Although, amusingly, the artist isn't quite capturing the whole beatific thing...he just looks like he's asking, "So, whaddya think?"

BTW, do you own any of your cover art? I've told hubby if we ever strike it rich, I'm am going on an SF cover art spree....

No, I don't own the original paintings. I assume the artist has them, or sells them at Cons.

You know, John, I'm not sure that "fourth-dimensional English schoolgirl" is a sufficiently large category for there to be a wide selection to pick favorites from. Though, is she actually "English?" Well, by immigration, at least ... :)
